Valentino Donna Perfume Review (2015)

Valentino Donna Perfume Review (2015 fragrance for women):

By Scentxpert

Donna’s hint of fragility combined with sensuous elegance is designed for the independent woman capable of passion and unexpected shyness. Inspired by a free spirited woman that doesn’t take herself seriously, Valentino yet again creates a timeless and charismatic elegance.

Sensual and luminous, Valentino Donna revolves around classic and fine ingredients. The scent opens up with light citrusy Bergamot and then sultrily mingles with the gentle sweetness of Bulgarian rose and warmth of iris. The base notes of rich leather, powdery vanilla and contrasting patchouli blend into each other making it a unique scent.

Valentino Donna Perfume Scent Descriptions and Notes:

Top Notes: Bergamot
Heart Notes: Iris, Bulgarian Rose
Base Notes: Patchouli, Vanilla, Leather

My experience with this fragrance:

The fragrance opened with a soft and bubbly fizz of citrusy bergamot and slowly settles down to the heart note of iris and rose, showcasing its delicate sweetness with nutty warmth. Together they create a melodious balance before drying down to a rich vanilla and leather with a touch of sharpness from patchouli. The patchouli note quite strategically ensures that the fragrance doesn’t reach the sickly sweet territory of perfumes.

Packaging:

The packaging is exquisitely sophisticated and classy, which is expected of Valentino and all that he creates. The pretty pink colored quilted glass bottle with its golden ‘Valentino’ label and spray nozzle, will definitely stand out on your dresser. The perfume liquid inside is also a rosy pink shade. However the spray nozzle does not have a cap.

It is definitely the kind of fragrance that is light enough for office wear but strong enough to wear on a night out. The classic scent is perfect for the autumn season with its slightly nutty tone with the sweetness of the notes.

Sillage and longevity:

The sillage is average and but has a low longevity, lasting about 3-4 hours on my skin.

Let us have a quick look at some of the likes and dislikes I've felt about this perfume:

Likes:

1) Its rare combination of strong yet feminine notes makes it a classic.

2) Showcases the iris and rose notes which are quite old school in a contemporary way.

3) Perfect for a night out.

4) Gorgeous packaging

5) Scent can transition well from day to night.

Dislikes:

1) The lovely scent only lasts for 4 hours at most.

2) It does not come with a cap.

3) On the expensive side as it is a designer perfume.

Rating: 4/5 (B+)

Availability: You can purchase this perfume online at best price at Amazon, Amazon India and Nordstrom

Overall: Valentino Donna is a classy and feminine perfume that has its own vivacious and vibrant personality. For the women who love glamour and scents that aren’t too feminine and sweet, this is the perfect choice. The lovely packaging along with the amazing scent makes it a collectible, just like Valentino’s gowns.
